Laser Settings for MDF
Can you laser cut MDF?
Yes, MDF cuts and engraves reliably and it's cheap and flat — but it's the smokiest common material. The resin glue that binds it releases formaldehyde-bearing smoke, so it demands your extraction working at its best.

PrepPreparation & technique
No masking needed if you plan to paint. Expect edges to darken; they take paint and gold marker beautifully.
⚠ SafetyThe worst smoke of the common hobby materials. Strong extraction, don't stand over the exhaust path, and fire-watch cuts.
